Danney, Here are the photos from Barnwell, South Carolina I took yesterday. Most are named such that you should be able to tell what is going on. If you sort them by date, they will be in chronological order. The guy in red is Russell Dayton. Russell lives in Huntsville and works at Redstone. He runs RAD Airbrush from his home and specializes in military pieces, like the one he did for dad. You know Steve, of course. The other fellow is Bobby Birt, a former Marine CE, who is now the President of VVA-828. He was very helpful in making this happen. I would think that this story and the pics would be great for the 190th web site. Below is the text I wrote for the post on the 190th Facebook page. Ray
"this album is large but documents the entire 338 project from beginning to end. You will notice Russell Dayton is the main star as he did the lion share of the work! This project could not have happened though without the work of South Side Steve who coordinated the logistics and equipment rental, and Bobby Birt, President of VVA-828 who agreed to the new paint job and helped run the lift. You may notice the old white panted ares on the doors. The plan is to put POW/MIA panels here in the near future."
Spartan 17338 was flown with the 190thAHC during Our Mission Operations 1968 - 1970. .
Southside Steve Caliendo did an OUTSTANDING Job in the location Spartan 338 at Barnwell SC, and pulling together a Team comprised of Ray Wilhite, Russell Dayton, and Bobby Birt, President of VVA - 828 to Rebirth Spartan 338.
Thank You to All Spartan, Gladiator, Horse, Unit members who financially made this Project possible.
